2012 ANNUAL TUCSON FARMERS’ MARKET EVENTS

Citrus Festival — Friday, January 20 & Saturday, January 21. The festival highlights the bounty and diversity of citrus grown in the region. Meet with our citrus specialists and support Tucson’s only remaining orange grove. We will also support event with Chef Demos.  This festival will be at the Jesse Owens and, Maynard’s, and the Oro Valley markets only.

Valentine’s Day at the Market — February 10, 11 & 12. Sweets for your sweetie, offering specialty cakes, cookies, and numerous gift ideas for that special someone.

GrazeFest — March 23, 24 & 25. Features the market’s grass-fed and pasture-raised meat, poultry, and pasture farmed foods. Meet our ranchers and farmers and discover their practices.

 Earth Day — Earth Day is Sunday, April 22nd.  Join us at the markets on the April 20,21, and 22 to celebrate our most precious commodity – our Earth.

Tomato, Basil & Garlic Festival — Friday, July 13 & Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15.  . At the height of the seasons’ bounty, we celebrate locally grown tomatoes, fragrant basil and pungent garlic. Chef Demo’s at each market.  Look for our sampling booths to highlight our vendors creations made in honor of the occasion.

Heritage Food Festival – August 17, 18, and 19th. Join us as we celebrate our local heritage foods like mesquite, prickly pear, a variety of native beans, agave nectar, and dried chiles. Many regional specialty items will be offered by the vendors such as mesquite breads, cookies, pancake mixes, syrups, jams and jellies, and more.

Chile Festival — September 14, 15 & 16. One special weekend filled with fresh roasted green chile, red chile strings and zesty salsas and tamales. Some of the finest chefs in Pima County show up at the Markets to demonstrate their love of the southwest’s flagship ingredient. QUE BUENO!

Thanksgiving FEASTable — November 16, 17 & 18. In anticipation of our farm to table holiday dinners, watch chef demos offering cooking tips and seasonal recipes. Enjoy complimentary hot holiday tea while shopping.
